The Botany Aspiration Track is great for students who take an interest in the study of plants, horticulture and other things related to them.

This is an area of knowledge and specialisation that is full of opportunities – for knowledge, for growth and future career paths.

What exactly does the Botany Aspirations Track look like for student who is keen on such an aspiration? The duration and content is different for each child, depending on his/her own ability or preference. In terms of knowledge and content, all Botany kids learn the same knowledge and practise the same skills. They start doing the same projects from Level 2 onwards. Here is an example of what a kid might be doing starting from Level 1. The units for each level will vary based on the age group. The example below assumes that the student starts from Level 1 at Primary 1.:

Botany Track Level 1

At Level 1, all students in the Aspirations Programme will be exposed to the 4 categories of knowledge by Aspirations International Academy. This will take about 40 lessons or 1 year. The student will be at P2 by the end of Level 1, assuming the student begins at P1:

  • Discovery and Innovation: Primarily focused on science, innovation and technology
  • Creative Expression: Primarily focused on the arts
  • Human Performance: Primarily focused on health and wellbeing and sports.
  • Leadership and Entrerprise: Primarily focused on entrepreneurship and leadership roles.

Botany Track Level 2

At Level 2, all students in the Botany Track will be begin diving deep into botany but will focus mainly on theory and research. All assignments in English and Maths will also be tied to this subject.

If Level 1 began at Primary1, the students will begin Level 2 at Primary 2. When students complete Level 2, they will be at the end of their 2nd year.

Botany Track Level 3

At Level 3, all students in the Botany Track will be begin explore more of botany in theory and will begin getting hands-on with botany-related tasks/projects. All assignments in English and Maths will also be tied to this subject.

If Level 1 began at Primary1, the students will begin Level 3 at Primary 3. When students complete Level 3, they will be at the end of their 3rd year.

Botany Track Level 4

At Level 4, all students in the Botany Track will be discipled by mentors who are professionals in the field of botany. Students will continue to learn what they can about botany on their own while receiving lessons from these professionals. The students will need to attend a total of 12 sessions (4 hours per session) with these professions, watching and receiving knowledge and understanding what botany is about the types of occupations that exist in this field of expertise. All assignments in English and Maths will also be tied to this subject.

If Level 1 began at Primary1, the students will begin Level 4 at Primary 4. When students complete Level 4, they will be at the end of their 4th year.

Botany Track Level 5

At Level 5, all students in the Botany Track will showcase everything they’ve learnt and done. They will also be required to take the lead. For example, they will need to speak as an expert on a topic related to botany, on stage, and also conduct a workshop in a school/office. They will also be interviewed on all their accomplishments and education. All assignments in English and Maths will also be tied to this subject.

If Level 1 began at Primary 1, the students will begin Level 5 at Primary 5. When students complete Level 5, they will be at the end of their 5th year. At the end of Level 5, their entire Aspirations journey is complete with Aspirations International Academy.

What Happens After?

Once students have completed Level 5, they will each receive five things:

  • Physical Portfolio of all their research, projects, photos, video files and other related accomplishments.
  • Digital Portfolio of all their research, projects, photos, video files and other related accomplishments.
  • Aspirations Achievement Certificate
  • University & Industry Outreach Package (We provide advice on universities and companies to look out for in the future. We also send a copy of the student’s digital portfolio to university’s on their behalf, to testify of all their work. This can be done early, to ensure universities are aware of the student’s accomplishments from an early age, or at a later time, when the student is ready to enter university.)
