The goal of Aspirations’ academic coaching classes is to help students become indepedent and self-driven learners. However, sometimes they need help to get there. This is where we come in. Our goal is not prolonged tuition or coaching. Our goal is swift and accurate remediation. We do not want parents to spend more than they need to and we want students to have their freedom while maintaining strong academic standards.
When students sign up with us for academic coaching, there are three phases they will go through:
| Phase | Focus | Examples |
| Phase 1: Foundation Building | – Repair learning gaps. – Build essential knowledge and skills. – Establish Confidence. – Create correct habits. | – Maths: number sense, operations, heuristics – English: grammar, vocabulary, sentence construction, composition writing techniques and structure |
| Phase 2: Application & Mastery | – Apply knowledge independently. – Solve increasingly complex tasks. – Develop critical thinking. – Transfer skills to unfamiliar situations. | – Maths: multi-step word problems – English: comprehension and inferential thinking exercises, descriptive writing, situational writing, narrative writing |
| Phase 3: Independence & Excellence | – Work independently. – Consistent performance – Examination readiness – Advanced application and refinement | – Maths: tackling difficult questions without guidance – English: writing compositions without guidance |
Skool (Currently in Development)
Once students have passed Phase 3, they will be given 3-months of free access to our Aspirations International Academy learning support group on Skool. On Skool, students will be able to seek guidance for homework or things they’ve learnt in the classroom. They may seek advice or support for exams. They also gain access to free, downloadable, worksheets, exam practice questions.
When students become independent, our academic coaching services are no longer required. However, there are times when students will still struggle even after becoming independent and self-driven. Hence, we will continue to make our services available in a minor capacity so that they can still seek help if they need it.
The Skool learning support group is still being set up now. More about that will be out.
